Here’s what you need to know about Taste of Tremont this Sunday

Over the past nine years, the Taste of Tremont festival has been reflecting the Cleveland neighborhood’s diverse offerings and community.  Running down Professor Ave, between West 10th Street and Starkweather Ave, the day-long festival lasts from Noon -8 pm on Sunday, July 21st. As always, Taste of Tremont is free to attend.

Booths representing the stores, community activists, and of course, food of the area will be lining the street. A full beer tent will be on hand, courtesy of Est 4th’s Butcher and the Brewer. A pop-up farmers market will offers everything from strawberries to pierogis. Cleveland Water and MetroHealth are providing “cool down zones” with free water and misting fans.

What food will be there?

While we don’t have a full menu break-down, the full list of vendors has been released. Here’s a break-down of which restaurants will be serving up fare, by food style:

Sesame and Soy

Hi and Dry

The South Side

Signature Slush

Tremont Scoops

Original Greek Gyro

LeeCee’s Empanadas

Fat Cats

Lucky’s Cafe

Corner 11 Bowl & Wrap

Sokolowski’s University Inn

Where can you park?

There’s always street parking! Yeah, we know. You might get lucky, but with an estimated 20,000 visitors stopping by throughout the day, it can be a challenge (and keep your eyes open for the “No parking” zones – they’re taken seriously). Luckily, the surrounding churches will be offering paid parking in their lots during the day. Here’s a list of the churches in the area:

Annunciation Greek Orthodox – 2187 W 14th St

Evangelical Baptist Church – 2071 W 11th St

Iglesia Pentecostal El Clvrio – 2536 W 14th St

Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ – 2592 W 14th St

St Andrew Kim Korean Catholic – 2310 W 14th St

St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church – 2486 W 14th St

St John Cantius Church – 906 College Ave

St Theodosius Orthodox – 733 Starkweather Ave

St Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox – 2266 W 11th St

If you don’t want to worry about parking, you can ride your bike into the area, and secure your wheels for free at 2071 W 11th St, in the Bike Lock Up. You can also ride the RTA #81 for the Tremont route.

Can my dog come along?

While your dog won’t be turned away, due to the heat (the weather is predicting the upper 80’s) and the amount of people coming, the event holders ask that you leave your dog at home.

What live entertainment will be at the fest?

There’s going to be no shortage of live music being played all day at the five different stages throughout the day at Taste of Tremont. Here’s a list of who will be playing:
