Miller Ferry, the longest-running and least expensive way to port into Put-in-Bay, is a destination in itself.
Miller Ferry, founded in 1905 as an ice harvesting business in the Winter, and a fishing charter water taxi service in the Summer, is currently the largest ferry service in Lake Erie.
When it comes to getting to Put-in-bay, Miller Ferry is the cheapest option, with adults riding round trip for $15, children 6 to 11 for $3, and under 6 for free. Day (or overnight) parking is available free of charge by the docks, but should you want to bring your car, trailer, motorcycle or bicycle to the island, you can bring them aboard for an extra fee. When you get to the Put-in-Bay landing dock, you can rent a bike or zoom off on a golf cart from E’s Carts, so you can start exploring the island.
While you don’t need a reservation to ride, you can purchase tickets online from the Miller Ferry website before you arrive. Be sure to check out the “island coupons” section, which leads you to dozens of deals for your upcoming adventures.
With the beauty of the lake around you, your relaxation and good times can begin before you even set foot on your destination.
