Taco Bell is, apparently, huge in Cleveland.
So much so that the fast-food giant is using the city as the exclusive testing grounds for two new menu items. First the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, now this!
The two exclusive items are the Avocado Ranch Bowl and Chipotle Grilled Burrito. While neither is a totally dramatic departure from the regular Taco Bell offerings (the way, say, the breakfast menu was), there’s still some new wrinkles added to the mix.
The Avocado Ranch Bowl
Taco Bell loves giving you things in shallow open boxes lately. While this is nice in terms of less wasteful packaging, the Avocado Ranch Bowl falls under both “Things you carry with both hands” and “Things that you should NOT eat in the car”. It’s a seasoned rice-based bowl, and covered with “homestyle-seasoned” chicken, black beans, purple cabbage, lettuce and pico de gallo. It’s all topped with a avocado ranch sauce, which sounds…very mild? A side of chips and guac fill out the rest of the tray. It costs $5.49, but you can substitute steak for a dollar more, and add a large drink for another buck.
Chipotle Grilled Burrito
In what looks like a pretty hearty offering, the Chipotle Grilled Burrito is filled with steak, seasoned rice, black beans, creamy Chipotle sauce, purple cabbage, lettuce and pico de gallo. Also has the side of chips and guac, and you can also swap out the steak for chicken. Whole cost: $6.49 (cheaper with chicken), a dollar more for a large drink add-on.
The new items will be around until mid-October (so you have plenty of time to try them out), and after that…who knows? The rest of the Nation may soon be blessed with what we lucky few get to experience.
