CLE Weekend Hot List – December 3 – 5

The holiday season is here, ready or not! See some of the festive events kicking off the month in the Cleveland area, December 3 – 5.

Miracle on 34th Street – The Musical A holiday classic from the writer of the musical theatre classic, ”The Music Man”, and based on the movie of the same name, ”Miracle on 34th Street – The Musical” features a book and score by none other than Meredith Willson. Filled with humor, spectacle, and such beloved songs as “Pinecones and Hollyberries,” “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” and “My State, My Kansas”. The show is held at the Corning Auditorium (38660 Mentor Ave, Willoughby) and begins its run on Friday, December 3rd, with performances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Sunday the 19th. A Bavarian Christkindlmarkt – A Bavarian Christkindlmarkt is a recreation of a traditional Christkindlmarkt found in southern Germany. Just like a real outdoor Bavarian Christmas market, you can stroll from booth to booth to seek out that perfect gift! Take a break from shopping to be entertained by local Christmas choirs, musicians, and dancers or take a horse and buggy ride. A Christkindlmarkt would not be complete without great food and snacks to nosh, like Glühwein from an authentic Christkindlmarkt mug, Nürnberger Bratwurst sandwich, or Brezel (pretzel). This is an outdoor event and will happen rain or shine. The event runs from Noon until 8pm Saturday, December 4th at the German Central Organization (7863 York Road, Parma). “Season’s Bleedings” Horror Film Festival – Get ready to have yourself a scary little Christmas at the Capitol Theatre (1390 W. 65th St., Cleveland) when the “12 Hours of Terror” film series presents “Season’s Bleedings”! With a sinister line-up or horror classics including “Silent Night, Deadly Night” (1984), “The Thing” (1982), “Flesh for Frankenstein” (aka “Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein”) in 3D (1973), and “New Year’s Evil” (1980), these movies will give you a thrill before Christmas. Starting at 4pm, and running until Midnight on Saturday, December 4th. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of show. NO ONE UNDER 18 WILL BE ADMITTED! You can purchase tickets here.
