Polka Night Before Christmas – The Chardon Polka Band provides holiday music that’s rollicking energy and fun. The band kicks off their weekend at the Music Box Supper Club (1148 Main Ave, Cleveland) with a show like no other, riffing on the classic holiday poem with their own “Polka Night Before Christmas” on Friday the 10th, at 8pm in the Music Box Supper Club. They’ll also be providing music for a pair of Christmas Brunches with Santa and Krampus on Sunday December 12 @ 11am & 3pm. Tickets for each of the shows is $20. Brunch is extra; also, you must make a table reservation if you want to eat. (Food is available Friday night as well). And on Friday night you can wear your pajamas! Tickets are available here.
Snow Day in Detroit Shoreway – Snow Day in Detroit Shoreway, an event on December 11th from 2-6pm, featuring live music, performing and visual arts, treats, hands-on activities, and a Kid Zone, takes place three blocks of West 65th Street and Detroit Avenue. A morning Welcome Walk for residents will kick off the event at Miriam Ortiz-Rush Park. Drag performer Kimmy Katarja will greet fellow neighbors with free winter gear, masks, movie passes, and noisemakers as well as free hot drinks from local business Scoot! Cold Brew. The Capitol Theatre will host free showings of Coming to America and A Christmas Story. Musical performances will follow. A free shuttle will circulate the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood, helping attendees to move through the arts district and start or end their day at Miriam Ortiz-Rush Park. Jingle Bell Rock & Shop – Beloved music venues Grog Shop and B-Side Liquor Lounge (2785 Euclid Hts. Blvd, Cleveland) will host their annual Jingle Bell Rock and Shop Saturday, December 11 from 11 am until 5 pm. The holiday shopping experience will feature more than 30 unique local craft and artisan vendors. Spicy Bloody Mary’s & boozy hot cocoa will be available to purchase along with a full bar through the event. Holiday music will be spun on stage by saucy DJ’s. Polish Village Christmas Lights – Shop, Dine, Stroll on Saturday, December 11 in Parma’s Polish Village! Get in the holiday spirit with the Polish Village local businesses along Ridge Road (between Pearl and Snow Roads) between 4 and 8 pm. Meet Mr. Jingaling and Saint Nick, hear carolers, enter free raffles for gift baskets valued over a thousand dollars – overflowing with terrific donations from local mom & pop businesses. Pick up some of the Higbee’s Silver Grille-inspired pierogi at Rudy’s Strudel and catch live entertainment. 5th Annual Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl – Get that Goodwill sweater, find those tacky holiday pants, and get ready to jingle bell ROCK at the Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl on Saturday, Dec. 11th from Noon until 8pm. The registration party begins at Around the Corner (18616 Detroit Ave, Lakewood) from Noon to 2pm. Then it’s off to more Lakewood-area bars, including Vosh, Harry Buffalo, Riverwood Cafe, West End and Avenue Tap House. Tickets are $25 per person (ages 21 and over only), and include a t-shirt, koozie, scavenger hunt, and discounted drink specials at each bar. You can get the full run-down here.
