CLEVELAND, Ohio (CLE WEEKEND) -
The term “blacklight art” might conjure up images of velvet posters of wizards and mushrooms, but Waterloo Arts “DayGLO Show” proves blacklight can move beyond the “stoner dorm room” aesthetic.
This annual show is now in its 9th year, and spotlights 40 local artists in a variety of styles, from painting to sculpture, mobiles to video installation. With paint donated by the Cleveland-based DayGlo Paint company, the gallery will be completely lit in blacklight. There’s even a chance for you to create your own neon-colored masterpiece with a communal mural, using the provided paint and brushes.
The show’s opening reception is Sunday, February 6th, from Noon until 3pm. The show runs until the 24th of February, 2022. Waterloo Arts is located at 15605 Waterloo Road, Cleveland. More details on the galleries website.
