The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo brings the beauty of Asian culture to light in the spectacular Asian Lantern Festival
Returning to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo after its record-breaking run last August is the Asian Lantern Festival, with over 40 all-new illuminated sculptural lanterns on display. Like the display last year, the larger-than-life lanterns will be running throughout the zoo’s grounds. (Check out our video from last year, where you can see high-towering jellyfish, massive floral blooms, and a lake-filling dragon, just to name a few.)
In addition to the bright creations will be live Asian entertainers performing including foot juggling, contortion and martial arts on the zoo’s Fifth Third stage, and a brand-new “interactive zone”.
The Asian Lantern Festival is a separately ticketed event from the zoo’s daily operation and goes from Thursday through Sunday evenings June 20 through July 28 from 6:30 – 10 p.m. Advance tickets, $15.50 for members and $18.50 for non-members, or a 4-pack for $50, are available until midnight the day before you attend. Day-of tickets will be $20.50 each or a 4-pack for $60. Children under 2 will be admitted for free. Single night tickets and a four-pack are available at the Metropark’s website.
