From Cedar Point's Town Hall to your home: Gray's Auctioneers will soon be putting these one-of-a-kind amusement park treasures up for auction.
If you’re a huge fan of amusement parks, get ready. You can soon take home a one-of-a-kind piece of the park’s history with the upcoming Cedar Point auction.
On November 18th, Gray’s Auctioneers (10717 Detroit Ave) will be holding an auction of some Cedar Point treasures from the park’s Town Hall Museum. The Museum, located in the “Frontier Town” section of the park, held a variety of amusements and antiques, with some pieces going back to 1904.
Going up on the block will be items ranging from a walnut cabinet that holds a arcade game of metal baseball players re-enacting the 1937 World Series, to a pump-action steam-powered fire engine built in 1904.
Other highlighted items include a rare “Cleveland’s Grandma” fortune teller machine that is still operational, a complete 36 foot long glass and hardwood apothecary store display from the early 20th century, and a host of 1980’s arcade machines. You can check out the complete listings at the Gray’s website. If you are looking to buy, you can leave an online bid for an item, but the final sale will be decided at the live auction, starting at 11am in Gray’s showroom.
If you’d like to check out the Cedar Point history in person, you can make an appointment for a viewing by contacting Gray’s. Who knows? You may just be convinced to take home that Kiss-O-Meter for your very own.
